It is operated under the auspices of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), an international non-for-profit organization, headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Statement 2 is correct: Blue Flag Beaches in India was initiated in 2018 in partnership with the Ministry of Environment Forests and Climate Change (MoEFCC), and the respective coastal states and union territories. Golden Beach, also known as Puri Beach in India holds the distinction of being Asia's first Blue Flag certified beach.

Statement 3 is not correct: In order to qualify for the Blue Flag, a series of international environmental, educational, safety, and accessibility criteria must be met and maintained for beaches, marinas and tourism boats.
