Instead, it entitles Priority Households to receive subsidized food grains at specified rates (₹3/kg for rice, ₹2/kg for wheat, and ₹1/kg for coarse grains) under the Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS). Food grains were provided free of cost for one year starting January 1, 2023, under a separate government initiative, not as part of the NFSA's original provisions
